Hakket Bedre! - the informal talk focused on the industry’s future and tech advancements. The invited speakers were the honorable Astrid Hvattum from Geodata and the inhouse NMBU researchers/topics, such as Ramzi Hassan/VR lab, Eirik Gundersen/digital twins, Tin Phan/proptech. Additionally, together Tin will lead the next Urban Lab session, “The Gameplan” premiering 9th of March. What the image conveys is the greatest joke Tin ever told with the entire panel laughing their asses off.

The topics introduced by Astrid and Ramzi how to avoid PDF’s, smoother planning processes via live documents and how generative AI is changing how spatial planning fields could work. These topics also set the premise for the informal talk afterwards. Tin personally spoke about among others, these key points:

  • limited but crucial AI use affecting production flow in competition work.

  • software suppliers’ interest in cracking regulation plans.

  • PDF as a larger threat than what initially thought, in terms of creating separate folders or duplicates from the main access point - disabling the opportunity of working on live documents across the table.

  • underestimation of established practices when introducing new digital tools/software to the office.

Secondly, Tin also released the teaser for the next Urban Lab session, which will focus mainly on the gameplan of any competition entry. A typical workshop usually focuses an entry from start-till-final-delivery, this one follows the unusual model of just focusing on 1% of the delivery (nothing more will be said until next week!). Tin’s key message was that shawarmas would be served!:
