CSO - Innovation Districts lecture

Tin will present for the first time at CityStudio Oslo the topic of Innovation Districts through these questions in mind: what is it and why is it sought-after? Is there a so-called blue-print that can be replicated over and over again? How do we operationalise it? Who are the stakeholders, and as one - when are we doing too much or too little?

This lecture consisted of 4 parts: Silicon Valley as blue-print, Horten knowledge district as an urban design proposal, a keynote on Kjeller cluster/Lillestrøm city centre, and lastly, a roleplay on 14 real stakeholders behind Innovation Districts strategy. Here the students took on a role each, playing on mutual and contradicting agendas, trying to make sense of it all etc. What the students remarked, was also how personalities came into play, changing how the innovation district were enacted and perceived.

CityStudio Oslo is a full-time course in collaboration with the City of Oslo across UiO, OsloMet, and NMBU. The course is led by Professor Per Gunnar Røe and Jennifer Valleé. Other teaching staff include: Erling Dokk Holm and Gro Sandkjær Hanssen.
