Launching Tin.uno 3.0
Tin relaunches his webpages, from just Tin. to Tin.uno, or commonly known as Tin.uno 3.0 - from a multi-employee office (we/them) to a research individual (he/him). He also capitalises on his unique domain name, “.uno”, with another subtle slogan, “the numero uno guy”. In a practical sense, this means Tin’s M.O. has shifted from conducting architecture/urban projects to peer-reviewed scientific papers. His projects between 2016-2020 is still on the homepage, but any new entries will be transferred over to Air Studio.
When Tin commenced his projects back in 2016 he went under different monikers, Assemble! and Gattaca before using his name, with different color schemes and type fonts. Now we celebrate what once was throughout the years:
Current graphics 3.0 - crisp black/white aesthetics:
New features and/or reorganisation on the homepage are as following:
Simplified logo. The “literal think-tank” logo has now been retired, serving us loyally since 2016. It was made as a placeholder some weeks after Tin handed in his diploma. Tin’s unique title stays - Head Honcho!
Befitting slogan. An attempt to capture the essence of Tin not only for now, but the story of his professional life. The evolution of slogans:
2016 - Assemble! Assembling stuff since 2016.
2019 - The office simply known as Tin AKA Just Tin.
2023 - Architect by accident, Researcher at heart.
News section. Each year can be accessed with a dropdown menu on the main page. In addition to this, every news entry has now its own unique URL (e.g., Tin’s never-before published bachelor thesis), with a separation between the news article and a more elaborate info box.
Research. Which now has subcategories - currently divided between papers or archives. This allows for a more nuanced categorisation of types of research accumulated in the future, e.g., teaching. Time will show how Tin’s academic endeavors will play out as time passes.
Paper - the graphics follows the same strict codes that comes with scientific papers: Times New Roman pt.11 - therefore the idea of publishing papers online should resemble the academic format.
Archives - all of the projects done in the 1.0-2.0 era, these are not the cornerstone of Tin’s activities anymore.
Practice. Any new architecture or urban projects from 2020 will now be transferred over to Air Studio, a more professionalised version of whatever Tin.uno was doing between 2016-2020.
About. The transformation between Tin.uno 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0 becomes apparent: going from being a fully-fledged consultancy to become a research institution. The output has gone from commissioned projects to peer-reviewed papers. This was a natural transition since Tin took up a fellowship at NMBU.
Dropdown menu - which allows for a direct overview from the homepage in one move (landing page on left). The old landing page did not have this feature, and it took three clicks before reaching the destination. (landing page on right):
As following are images or a trip down memory lane on how Tin.uno’s homepages and merch has evolved over the years. Enjoy!
