Concerns about the future of Kjeller Research Park
Both Sverre Landmark and Tin Phan were in place questioning the current direction of Lillestrøm in the local newspaper Romerikes Blad. With the ongoing development on urban, business and societal matters, how will the city centre of Lillestrøm and the professional community at Kjeller Research Park relate to and distinguish themselves from each other? The city is currently indecisive on how the city of Lillestrøm are benefitting from their stellar research community at Kjeller, in terms of area, built mass, wealth, identity, and culture.
Cities in the Oslo region are competing against each other for the knowledge workers, most promintently is Oslo itself with the elaborate strategy of Oslo campus strategy, through Oslo Science City. Lillestrøm has themselves established Lillestrøm Kunnskapsbyen, an interest organisation as a means to encourage collaborations and relations across companies.
